Duraplas Poly Reedbeds
The Duraplas Reedbed is a general-purpose vessel suitable for use in reedbed/constructed wetland applications
Duraplas supplies the vessel only. We do not supply the internal media, plants, plumbing, or other components required to form a complete treatment system. Installation, fit-out, and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified plumber or wastewater treatment professional, in accordance with a site-specific treatment design prepared for the property. This design should take into account local council requirements, soil type, site slope, wastewater volumes, and intended end use, and must comply with all relevant regulatory approvals.
If the reedbed is to be used for sewage or blackwater treatment, it must form part of a complete system accredited by NSW Health before council approval can be granted. Responsibility for obtaining that accreditation rests with the system supplier or installer — not the vessel manufacturer.
A constructed wetland system is a man-made, engineered solution that replicates the natural filtration processes of wetlands. It uses wetland plants, gravel or sand media, soil, and beneficial microbes to treat wastewater, greywater, or stormwater in a sustainable, low-energy manner.
These systems are typically installed downstream of a septic tank or other primary treatment unit, with effluent passing slowly through the vegetated media. This process facilitates the biological breakdown and absorption of organic matter, nutrients, and pathogens.
Each Duraplas Reedbed vessel is supplied with two 100 mm Wallace Seals to assist the attending licensed professional with pipework installation, based on their specific hydraulic and system requirements.
