The Duraplas Reedbed is a general-purpose vessel suitable for use in reedbed/constructed wetland applications
Duraplas supplies the vessel only. We do not supply the internal media, plants, plumbing, or other components required to form a complete treatment system. Installation, fit-out, and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified plumber or wastewater treatment professional, in accordance with a site-specific treatment design prepared for the property. This design should take into account local council requirements, soil type, site slope, wastewater volumes, and intended end use, and must comply with all relevant regulatory approvals.
If the reedbed is to be used for sewage or blackwater treatment, it must form part of a complete system accredited by NSW Health before council approval can be granted. Responsibility for obtaining that accreditation rests with the system supplier or installer — not the vessel manufacturer.
A constructed wetland system is a man-made, engineered solution that replicates the natural filtration processes of wetlands. It uses wetland plants, gravel or sand media, soil, and beneficial microbes to treat wastewater, greywater, or stormwater in a sustainable, low-energy manner.
These systems are typically installed downstream of a septic tank or other primary treatment unit, with effluent passing slowly through the vegetated media. This process facilitates the biological breakdown and absorption of organic matter, nutrients, and pathogens.
Each Duraplas Reedbed vessel is supplied with two 100 mm Wallace Seals to assist the attending licensed professional with pipework installation, based on their specific hydraulic and system requirements.

Many of our customers sites are located in remote regions or islands around Australia and the world, and this can often present a significant challenge when it comes to transport and installation, until now!
Our highly-experienced team have engineered our innovative new ‘Modular Poly Raceway Bed’ system that is ideal for all areas and delivers many advantages. All the required poly components stack efficiently, and many complete raceway units can fit into a 20 foot shipping container. This is a ‘game changer’ for many sites, drastically simplifying transport (with big savings) and allowing delivery to even the most remote regions.
We’ve carefully designed the final on-site installation process for your new modular aquaculture raceway beds to be simple and efficient: position the poly legs on a flat compacted surface, drop in the treated timber supports and then place in the poly raceway section before screwing the raceway flange to the legs. Finally, the last join or two is bolted and sealed using a special poly glue system and then the paddle wheel unit is bolted in place. If you are looking for a cost effective, durable and convenient solution that will meet all your raceway needs then look no further.
